UK-registered SMEs can apply for funding to scale laboratory-proven engineering biology innovations to pilot or demonstration scale. Projects must use a UK-based partner or subcontractor with suitable scale-up and validation facilities, such as a biofoundry, Catapult centre, contract manufacturing organisation or specialist pilot facility. Projects should validate the technical and commercial viability of engineering biology innovations across health, agriculture and food, chemicals and materials, low-carbon fuels, waste and environmental applications, or cross-cutting technologies.
