Electricity Demand Turn Up Trial: EOI for Flexibility Providers
Purpose of the trial Test whether Demand Turn Up (DTU) can reduce the curtailment of renewable electricity in Great Britain. DTU encourages consumers to increase electricity consumption when renewable generation is abundant but would otherwise be curtailed because of network constraints. Test whether rebating eligible Final Consumption Levies (FCLs) makes DTU more commercially competitive. Generate evidence to inform future government policy on the treatment of FCLs. Provide participating consumers with financial benefits linked to verified DTU activity.
