The challenge
Combine AI builds AI-powered productivity tools, including the Eric.ai meeting assistant and the PinTale writing platform. Repeated grant success meant framing each project around a fresh technical unknown, from understanding the characteristics of virtual meetings to dynamic, AI-enabled writing support, rather than re-running the same product story.
What we did
- Positioned each application around a distinct research question, including a £546,004 Investment Accelerator award for next generation meeting efficiency.
- Evidence-led feasibility and collaborative R&D bids covering virtual meeting productivity, travel optimisation and scheduling, and AI-enabled writing support.
- Sustained a multi-year funding strategy across Industrial Research, Feasibility Studies, Collaborative R&D and Investment Accelerator competitions.
The result
Ten Innovate UK awards totalling more than £1.4m, recorded on UKRI Gateway to Research, funding the development of Eric.ai, Emma.ai and PinTale.
