Why we added it

Grant funding is non-dilutive, but the work to win it still has to be paid for before the money arrives. For an early-stage company with a tight monthly runway, that timing gap is often the only reason a strong project never gets submitted.

We have partnered with iwocaPay so you can start the work now and pay for it monthly, rather than waiting for a quarter where the cash happens to be there.

How iwocaPay works

iwocaPay is a business-to-business payment option from iwoca, one of the larger UK small business lenders. When we send your invoice, you can choose to pay it in full or spread it.

There are two representative options: three monthly payments or twelve monthly payments. There is nothing to pay for the first thirty days, no arrangement fee, and spending limits run up to £30,000. Approval is a soft check that does not affect your credit score, and the decision is usually immediate.

It is available to UK limited companies and LLPs. Sole traders and unincorporated organisations are not eligible, and iwoca sets the final limit and terms based on its own assessment.

How it fits with our fees

Our pricing does not change if you use it. We agree the fee up front, with no equity and no percentage of your award, and iwocaPay simply changes when you pay it.

It also works alongside our other commercial options, including the Unlimited retainer programme and, for qualifying companies, a success-based arrangement.
